The office was started by Morgenstierne and Eide in 1909, after have met in Berlin where they both had studied and worked at different offices. The office closed in 1957, when Eide died. When building Folketeateret the office was already renowned in Norway, drawing and building many projects from 1910–1930s. The office drew the first garden city in Norway, Arctanderbyen at Ekerberg (1910-1911). The office have also drawn a exhibition kiosk for A/S Freia chocolate factory (1913), Røde Kors clinic in Frederik Stangsgate (1918), the music pavilion in Studenterlunden (1919), Bredvedt womens prison 81920), Bestum school (1921), Bærum Hospital (1924), Nordstand Upper Seconday School (1926), etc. 

The office has also produced regulation plans. They have been influential specificly for those regarding housing, where the streets would follow the movable terrain. The drew the regulation plan for Ilaløkken in Oslo (1911) and Sunndalsøra (1913). 

The office participlated in "Høstutstillingen" in 1910, 1913, 1917, 1920, in OAF architecture exhibition in 1912 and the jubilee exhibition in 1914.

Morgenstierne (1880-1967) was an norwegian architect from Kristiania. First he was educated as a mason, but was later student of Hermann Schimer at Statens Kunst og Håndverksskole 1895-98. From 1898-1900 Morgenstierne was a student at Technische Hochscule i Berlin, before he later took an exam in the US at the university in Champaign, Illinois. He stayed in the US working for several offices, mainly in Chicago, before he left for Berlin after 5 years. Morgenstierne worked in Berlin for 3,5 years before returning to Kristiania in 1909. 

Morgenstierne was very enganged in the housing debate, and the office made an important contribution to social housing. One of the goals was to have healthier homes, through united planning and execution. Morgenstierne had travel abroad to find inspiration for european and american models for housing politics. In 1913 Morgenstierne was one of the founders of NFB (Norsk forening for boligreformer). The union was non-political, and was an important drive-force behind Egne-hjem movement (Arctanderbyen). The right to live was a human right, and healthy homes and upgrades of the working class was important to acheive equality. 

Christian Frederik Jacob von Munthe av Morgenstierne

Arne Bjørnson Eide was a norwegian architect from Bergen (1881-1957). Eide was seen as a skilled drawer, he illustrated the book about Åsgårdstrand with waterpaintings. From 1899-1900 Eide was a hospis at Technische Hochschile in Berlin, where he graduated in 1903. From 1903-1909 Eide worked in Berlin, before moving to Kristiania in 1909.

In Byggekunst Eide has commented the importance of the interior and exterior material and a building's surroundings. In the journal in 1916 Eide commented the importance of finding a buildings "grunntone". A city was supposed to have its own physonomy, a emphasize of its own. It was the mission of the architect to find this and tie the project to the city's tradtion. Eide was putting emphasize on the modern movement towards a "healthy simplicity in plan, shape and construction" (Byggekunst, 1920/21:85).
